Frequently there is cooking involved during the day, most notably around lunch time. Since the kitchen isn't in close proximity to everyone's desks, timers set to go off when things were done didn't always get heard.
Since buying a physical kitchen timer for everyone would involve getting up, traffic, lines at the register and so on, it was just easier to make an app for it. And so Kitchen Timer was born.
This was written years ago, quickly, so forgive any rough edges you find. The new site got us thinking about what we would have done differently, so there might be a version 2 in the works.
